Monday is about done. Were it not for dogs to walk, people to see, and lists of things to do, being idle might be harder to accomplish. I may need to develop a more rigorous training plan to become idle.
1. Walk the dogs longer in the morning and evening; enjoy Spring blooming all around me.
If a man devotes himself to art, much evil is avoided that happens otherwise if one is idle. Albrecht Durer
2. Consider, evaluate, then sleep on, the advice of visionaries and Presidents.
Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing. Thomas Jefferson
3. Given the choice of sitting and thinking, or just sitting around all day, choose the less strenuous option.
Writing is a dreadful labor, yet not so dreadful as Idleness. Thomas Carlyle
4. Your doctor prescribed idleness. Take your medically-induced idleness more seriously. Work at nothing all day….
You get up every morning from your alarm clock’s warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There’s a whistle up above and people pushin’, people shovin’
And the girls who try to look pretty
And if your train’s on time, you can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed, look at me I’m self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day… Bachman -Turner Overdrive
