When group acceptance and identification is most important to a culture, differing ideas are dangerous. What is acceptable? Populism is stultifying. Education is a human right. Everyone is a citizen. Science is the measure by which all other ideas are measured. Religion is an idea whose time has passed.
People stake their lives and honor on ideas. We must all be cautious about our exclusion of contrary and emotionally-charged ideas. In the history of Man, people have been executed or persecuted for ideas a generation or two later, are held up as the new doctrine. It continues today. There is a grand unifying Truth. Most will never seek it.
