A Tail of heroes

I began reading Trident K9 Warriors today.  I had the book on my bookshelf for a few months. but today happened to see  a CBS 60 Minutes episode on Military Working Dogs featuring this author in my Facebook feed.

Watching these animals being trained for exposure to dangerous environments and jumping with their handlers from aircraft, I look over to my buddies snoozing on the floor.

The special operators and other military units who placed their lives into the hands of these dogs and handlers survived combat operations because of the dogs abilities and training.  I am very glad that the military now releases these dogs at their retirement to the handlers who worked with them.
