‘Anticlimactic’, is all the feeling the cat seems to muster when peering inside the open sliding glass door for the first time. Without two dogs around to declare the backyard off limits, the Calico can explore as the mood strikes her now.
Perhaps, it is still too soon to declare conquest. One of her attendants, the lady, interrupts her a few feet into the living room, and shoos her back out the door. A casual retreat seems best for now.
“I waited out two lives and five years for this?”, as she lay on the patio and stretched. Her male attendant answers her demand for a belly rub. “I can wait them out”, she thinks. “Then the house will be mine too.”
Contentedly, she contemplates her next moves.
