the value of words

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)

Songwriters, playwrights, poets, authors, and orators. Without these storytellers, would not humanity be in perpetual decay? Builder build, inventors invent, and farmers farm. While these skilled people may house or change or feed a nation today, without words in a thousand years others may only have dust to sift what we once were. On the other hand, words will live beyond us.

Strive to let your words and your works be beneficial, as often as you are able. This is what I would tell my children’s children on the value of words.

Meanings are not determined by situations, but we determine ourselves by the meanings we give to situations
