Considering that I separate plastics, recyclables, and composting green waste, I should have been aware that it was Earth Day.

Some of my shrubs needed trimming no later than early Spring. I am already quite late. Tonight I came home, got out the hedge trimmer and attacked. Unfortunately, for a second time, I sliced through the wires that connect garden lights to solar charging panels.

And I also was outraged to see gophers testing the boundary between my neighbor’s yard and my compound. The healthier my yard becomes, a gopher dinner bell rings louder. Tonight I saw them encroaching on my fruit trees and fenced off “pee-free zone”. I may resort to Dexter pee and Comet poop to deter pests. I wonder if I get Earth Day points for eradicating pests naturally?
I’d say, go-pher it! 😛
