Learning from my Garden

Sunday peaceful surrender

The sermon today was directed to me. Surrender my half- hearted followership. In return, Jesus will provide everything. Not that life will go smoothly, but the same God who cares for the plants and animals through drought and frost, cares that I surrender to His will.

The minister made a great point that ‘unconditional surrender’ goes against everything we are taught. Yet surrendering to the will of God, unlike soberly weighing one’s options in the face of overwhelming forces, does not lead to destruction or agonizing compromise, but to spiritual enrichment now, means to endure challenges in later life, and a future eternal reward. And like my garden, I will not thrive the longer my environment is out of balance.
