Friends in need

If I were to get education credit for life experience in hospitals, by now, I would certainly have a PhD. From phlebotomy to pain management, emergency room procedure to diagnostic testing, I could write volumes. It takes special people to be caregivers, and I’ve met many of the best when I’m at my worst.

Hospitals are not the best places to rest. So they would not compete with 5- diamond hotels. Yet the hospital is where I make new acquaintances, cherish “family” – from visits, messages and prayers for comfort.

And that on top of the great care from dedicated professionals, is the best medicine.
