My son’s collection of Halloween items started to appear in our front yard the first week in October. The cat seems to have taken the ghoulie masks, bones and an amusing zombie “crawling out” from under the bridge in our rock river, in stride. Last weekend we held an October “harvest” potluck with our “regulars”, and despite the Padres losing the baseball game that night, even diehard fans among us, seemed not to mind all that much. Yesterday afternoon, Sunday, was an even bigger treat for our congregation across San Diego, gathering to enjoy what has become an annual “Trunk or Treat” decorating contest. with the addition this year of a pie-baking competition.
