A taste of ill-timed freedom was a cockatiel's last. From a balcony perch the bird not flew but like a feathered stone fluttered to the park below. The husky bounded upon the hapless toy. People yelled and dogs thronged. One toss, then two tugged. and with a gulp Rocky swallowed his prize. Gone, but for white down and toothy grin. "Got feathers?"
Sometimes the choices we make seem like the right thing to do. Personal freedoms and all. But we should be willing to accept the consequences, whether for good or for ill. This tale I heard twice this week at the dog-park seems fitting with all the public banter about COVID-19 precautions. Karma or perhaps a parable, you understand.
Oh!
