Fostering tails

Community support through underwriting and hosting charitable causes is a mark of a progressive employer in the new Millennium. Today was one such day with an Awareness Day for adopting dogs, cats and even rabbits.

One of SPOT’s charges is puppy-pooped out

In the square in the middle of Viasat’s new East Campus in Carlsbad, Animal Awareness day gave a forum for puppies, older dogs, a few rabbits, and animal advocates to talk with employees about their charges.

After a couple hours meeting their fans, nap timed

Three of the advocate groups, and 501(c) 3 non-profit organizations, represented today are Wagging Dog Rescue, SPOT (Saving Pets One At A Time), and Labrador Rescuers, staffed by volunteers and obviously not bothered by dog hair and frequent events like the one today.

Sweet older gal, Labrador Rescuers

If you know people who live in San Diego and would love a forever friend, young, older, or with some special considerations, please visit these websites for more information on the next adoption event in the county. Consider volunteering or fostering. Or donate. As someone who rescued Comet from our local shelter, I know many times these animals can languish for days, weeks or months till they find a home. And sometimes, an animal advocate will rescue them, socialize them, and give them a better chance through a community event like this. And my hope for our furry pals, in many communities WordPress touches, local animal charities and rescue agencies may find assistance of a dog-, cat- or bunny- blog to place these animals with loving homes.
