The 13th of January, 2001 I married the love of my life. Into our marriage she brought three pre-teen boys and I brought – two dogs. Into the crucible of testing by fire, we walked in with a grain of experience I thought. We both began lives that January differently than we each had begun a decade earlier married to other people. Whether is was learning to live with each other, finding roles and boundaries as a family of five plus (plus being two cats, three dogs and a freedom-finding cockatiel), or lessons in child-to-young-adult rearing, we loved, we suffered, and we matured. Through faith, perseverance, and committing to each other the dogs thrived in a happy home. And we did too.
