Most of the time, It’s A Dog’s Life focuses on the positive, heartwarming and funny observations of sharing a life with dogs. And then sometimes, a story on social media will inflame cynicism and anger, instead of love and compassion for fellow human beings. I was moved to tears to see the response of these poor animals when being rescued by this woman. And to see them respond in a safe environment. But that there is a place – and I am sure there are many, many places like this – where it is common to find animals abandoned, is criminal or should rightly be.
I’ve seen more than my share of mistreated and abandoned animals around the world. Cruelty is mostly due to ignorance, poverty, or one’s nature. In contrast I have also seen many examples of people who rescue and care for abandoned animals. Shelters and Rescue organizations could not function without volunteers and donors. I think of the strays and rescues I’ve taken in including dogs, cats, and even one octopus.

I’m sorry Eric, I can’t bring myself to click on that link. I can’t even watch a news story about animal abuse. I have to change the channel. It’s weird, I can watch people hurt each other and even kill each other and it doesn’t affect me much. Abuse a defenseless animal or child and I lose it.
